What can I do until help arrives?
When a flood strikes, lives are suddenly turned around. Often, the hardest part is, knowing what to do first, and who to contact.
Next, after any water damage situation, your primary focus should be safety first.

What To Do After A FLOOD

  • Check to see if it there is any structural damage before you enter you home or business.
  • Check to see if there is any potential electrical issues that might pose a threat. Any questions call and electrician.
  • Protect the wooden legs of your furniture by propping the legs up or rapping plastic bags underneath them.
  • Prevent mold by removing wet contents such as rugs and linens immediately.
  • Remove art objects to a safe dry place.
  • Make a list of damages or lost items and include where possible include the receipts for insurance recovery.
  • Remove loose items from floors. Remember wet is heavy.

What NOT To Do After A FLOOD

  • Don’t leave valuable items such as books, magazines rugs, furs, or other colored items on wet carpet or floors.
  • Remember, make sure your electrical is switched off before moving or removing any electronics items.
  • Don’t use a regular vacuum cleaner to remove water from your floors or rugs.
